Ear Cleaner that Works Better Than Anything from the Vet

All available at any local pharmacy:

• 8 oz rubbing alcohol
• 2 tablespoons boric acid powder
• 8 drops gentian violet

Mix together and shake well, then immediately pour some into a container and heat slightly (to warm) in microwave.  Take the dog outside (gentian violet STAINS) and wear old clothes.  Draw solution up into a syringe.  Plunge solution down into ear canal and massage base of ear then stand back!  Let the dog shake her head and do the other side.  Repeat.

If the ears are badly infected do this once every day for three days and then once a week for a few weeks until the ears are normal.
